“She is a Delicate Stranger” by Joseph G. Allen

She is a delicate stranger

Silent, and ferocious in vitality

Her eyes blink, blossoming with layered radiance

A dazzling spectrum of tranquility and danger

Flickering embers of luxury not likely seen

And as she waits in eloquent stillness,

I grow evermore aware of her

She is not common,

nor is she familiar

She is foreign

She is timeless

The reemergence of essences lost

and I am grateful to have encountered such beauty

She is a delicate stranger

And I, a passerby

a witness to elegance refined,

seek only a mere instant

allowing her glance to return mine
